Courses |
A wide
range of training packages focus on interactive
and engaging approaches to learning and teaching for the 8-14
age group, with a particular interest in the use
of ICT, as well as curriculum leadership
and creative approaches to the development of literacy
across the curriculum. New:
Shakespeare Alive! - a one-day, hands-on
drama workshop exploring The Tempest, with additional opportunities
to go beyond the dramatic activities and consider wider curricular
possibilities for reading, writing and language enrichment - ideal

Networking |
The
Literacy Exchange is a national network that meets three times
a year to share projects and research relating to the development
of literacy and English language for the 8-14 age group in Scotland. |

Creative Consultancy |
Project management, project evaluation and resouce development, including
managing the initial phase of Literature
in Learning, developing resources for National
Poetry Day and the Michael Rosen poetry tour, and acting as a
specialist education adviser for Scottish Arts Council. |

Research |
Creative
Contexts provides education expertise as
consultant to the innovative Adventure Author
computer game authoring research project led
by Dr Judy Robertson at Heriot-Watt University. |

Cathrin Howells is
an experienced education professional who has
twenty years’ experience of teaching, advising, training and leading
in literacy – at school and local authority level in England, and
at a national level in Scotland. She
is now a freelance English specialist working across Scotland.
