| eDARTs:
Deepening the textual experience with ICT |
|
This
creative, hands-on course looks at the effective use of eDARTs (electronic
Directed Activities Relating to Texts) to help develop reading and
writing from P4-S2. eDARTs
include on-screen highlighting, annotation, labelling, reorganisation,
completion, deletion, sequencing and cloze. These
on-screen techniques provide a visual and kinaesthetic experience
for learners, they lend themselves to an investigative approach, and
many work better than with traditional paper-based texts – no strips
of paper to blow away, or mess of felt pen highlighting that cannot
be altered or easily amended! The course explores a range of
interactive, investigative activities and shows teachers how to make
activities of their own. A CD of all the activities used is provided
for each delegate. Recently run in Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire. |
